Hello!!!
Well, I am in the final preparation period
whilst I await my doll. He’s been poured and awaiting finishing. Annette, from
Realdoll, has been so kind keeping me informed of his progress and it won’t be
too long now. In the meantime, I’ve been getting things sorted for his arrival.
I have to say that it has been a lot of fun and I am so very glad the wait is
almost over.
I managed to get a space sorted for
him in my house. Believe it or not, I like the idea of him being displayed and
people seeing him. These dolls are such wonderful and unique works of art, so
why not show them off?
My former Male Realdoll 2 was in my
living room on a stand. Most people didn’t know the full function of the doll
and I never shared it. However, when guests would see him they were amazed at
how very lifelike he was. He was always dressed and looked as if he were simply
standing there watching what was going on. These dolls have a presence all
their own and in the right place, they look like they belong there and really
don’t need to be hidden out of sight because of their true function.
So, this new doll of mine will be
displayed to be admired as my first one. Though he is different than my last
one, he should have the same presence and art like quality. I think he will
develop a personality all his own and that comes from posing and the clothing
he will be dressed in. He is far more than a mannequin as there is something
about the eyes and the not so perfect poses that seem to be frozen in time.
Even the slightest change in position can make all the difference in the world.
I have never truly understood why
people hide their dolls. I do respect those that do but these
things need to be displayed. When I have read that people keep them hidden or
out in a garage somewhere, I was startled. I mean, we spend so much money for
these things why hide them? In general, most people will never have a clue what
they are used for unless they are in the know. So why hide them? It’s like
buying a piece of art and putting it in a closet with a blanket over it and
never being able to fully enjoy for what it is on different levels is a huge waste of
money. Though I reckon that maybe it has to do with the shame factor
because they are indeed sex dolls…and very expensive ones at that. Maybe we
need to get over the shame as they are not those silly blow-up-dolls that every
one knows about. Now, I can see hiding those away as they are ghastly! Ewww…but
Realdolls, well, they need to be on display for all to see in my opinion. They
also make great conversations pieces.
Well, that is all that is on my mind
for this post. Hopefully, my doll will be finished up and shipped off in the
next week or so. I know they are really busy at Abyss Creations/Realdoll and
have loads and loads of dolls waiting to go to their new homes. I guess that is
why I don’t mind waiting so much. They do such a wonderful job and keep busy to
make their customers happy. I reckon that’s what keeps them in business and
people going back all the time.
Okay, thanks for stopping by!!! I
will post more pictures as I receive them or when he arrives…Still trying to
choose a name but it looks like I will wait until I see him face to face and
get to know him. Such fun!
:o)
